To make an Isaiah Rashad type beat, focus on creating a chilled atmosphere using mellow melodies, layered samples, and a laid-back rhythm that complements thoughtful lyricism.

Understanding Isaiah Rashad's Sound

Isaiah Rashad's production style is characterized by relaxed tempos, typically between 70 and 80 BPM, which allows space for reflective storytelling. His beats often feature warm, jazzy chord progressions, subtle vinyl crackles, and atmospheric pads that create a moody yet inviting background. Drum patterns are usually crisp but not overpowering, emphasizing snappy snares and deep kicks.

Essential Components of an Isaiah Rashad Type Beat

1. Melodic Samples: Use samples from jazz, soul, or R&B records that provide emotional depth. Layer these with soft electric piano or Rhodes sounds.
2. Drums: Craft drums with a boom-bap influence, keeping kick and snare patterns simple but effective. Hi-hats often have a swung rhythm to add groove.
3. Bassline: Incorporate a smooth, rolling bassline that underpins the melody without dominating the mix.
4. Atmospheric Elements: Add subtle background textures like vinyl noise, ambient pads, or reversed samples to enhance mood.
5. Tempo and Groove: Keep the beat slow to mid-tempo, allowing vocalists room to breathe and deliver introspective lyrics.
